PRO-LIFE RALLY 2023
October 15, 2023
After several days of rain, about 85 people came out for a sunny Pro-Life Rally on the Woodstock Public Square. Music by “Suzy” was enjoyed before a fabulous lineup of pro-life speakers. Art Osten,Jr. of Right to Life McHenry County was the Master of Ceremony as he introduced the following speakers:
Bruce Johnson, Founder if We The People of McHenry County told us about how his organization organically rose up from regular folks who became impassioned and emboldened and Bruce encouraged us to become involved in life for the betterment of our community.
Judy Cocks, Director of 1st Way Life Center spoke on the services they provide, the gratitude of the clients and how 1st Way has been effected by new laws.
Pastor Jordan McGowan of Shiloh Church delivered a beautiful, rousing oratorical masterpiece on the Sanctity of Human Life. Truly inspired.
Libby Oleferchik, Director of Rachel’s Vineyard Rockford audibly painted a picture of the effects of abortion on women, especially the abortion pill, and emphasized the need for retreats for hope and healing.
Fr. Bob Jones, Pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle in Crystal Lake, spoke on the merciful healing of Christ and the Divine Mercy.
Terri Greeno, McHenry County Board Member D5, told us about Title X funding and stressed the importance of our votes to keep Title X funding out of McHenry County.
Our featured speaker, Mary Kate Zander was unable to attend as, she being 38 weeks pregnant, was experiencing symptoms leading her to believe that labor was soon approaching.
The rally was concluded with recognizing the Knights of Columbus for their great Prolife work and concluded in prayer. Suzy played more beautiful music and folks lingered with popcorn and bubbles for the kids. What a blessed event this was!
